Favorite book today.

My favorite book out of the list that I have so far has got to be The True Meaning of Smekday. It's very lighthearted and funny. I enjoyed it so much that even though I was not planning on reading it again anytime soon I bought it just to be able to own it. The only book that I have ever read more than once is Pride and Prejudice. I'm not a fan of reading a book more than once normally. P&P is my old standby just in case I can't find anything else good to read yet. It's hard to find a real good book without all of the sexuality, language, and drugs that I don't really care to hear about. We hear about that stuff enough in everyday life, am I right? I learned about The True Meaning of Smekday from Shannon Hale's blog. She is the author of The Princess Diaries, Goose Girl, Enna Burning, and other lively adventurous and fun books made normally for young girls. As Stephenie Meyer's has taught us though don't read just for what section it is. A good book is a good book no matter what section it is from. Just because you're 80, (or 31) doesn't mean that you can't peruse the young adult section when you want something fun. Don't limit yourself! Good reading!

book ratings

I had a suggestion that I should rate the books that I have on my list so that people know how good they are. I will do my best. It may take a little while. Some of them I don't remember very well. I guess that if I don't remember them well though that constitutes a low rating. I will rate them from 1 to 10. Ten being very bad and One being very good. That way everyone knows about them some of them I may copy and paste a brief description of the book into the blog so that you read about each one. If anyone may have suggestions for me for books to read after seeing what types of books I have enjoyed please feel free. Thanks for your interest!

DVD specials on authors ?

I would like to find videos or movies on the stories of inspirational authors or movies of people who wrote books to get me going on writing. I'll have to do some research on that and see if I can find anything. Sometimes I need some inspiration to get me going.

Books I am now reading

The books that I have been trying to finish recently include the original version of Tarzan of the Apes that I found in the used book store down the street and I have also been working on getting through Vampire Diaries. Although I have been finding it hard to stay interested in The Vampire Diaries considering I am an avid watcher of the t.v. series.
I am seriously excited for the prospect of future additions to The Host story that Stephenie Meyer has been working on. Feel free to ask me about any of the books on my book list of what I have read. I try to find books that have next to no bad language in them if any. I like to enjoy my books without putting too much thought into it. Time to update my book list again as soona as I can remember the other books that I forgot to write down that I read through my school classes. Time to think!!!!

Feeling inspired but don't know where to start.

I have been feeling inspired to write since watching the PBS special about Louisa May Alcott and her life yesterday. I want to write but can't seem to get the right inspiration to light a fire under my butt. I want to write. I know that I have I have so much inside of me, but I just can't seem to figure out a way to get it out.
Dan also rented on demand the movie "Julie and Julia" for me a little bit earlier and I enjoyed it immensely. The only part that seemed to bother me though was in the end where Julie is told that Julia Child did not appreciate her blog. Julie was a writer who could not get a book published. The experience of cooking her way through Julia Child's French cookbook got her a book deal. So, she had gotten what she had wanted.
I realized that maybe that was what I had needed was to start a blog and just free write. I love to read books so, I will write about that. In the upcoming semester in college I will be taking a Shakespeare class. That will subject me to some works I'm sure that I have not read yet. Hopefully it will help me to be more well versed in Shakespeare and a better English major.
I am a Twilight reader, but have never read the books more than once. After reading Stephenie Meyer's book The Host I could not get back into the Twilight books again. I do enjoy Jane Austen and quite a few other authors though. My favorite Shakespearean play thus so far is "Much Ado about nothing". My favorite Jane Austen novel is Pride and Prejudice of course. My husband recently bought me a copy of Shakespeare's complete works for christmas and I plan to read Much ado about nothing, and later on A Comedy of Errors when I get the chance. I saw it in play form once at a younger age and quite enjoyed it.
I think what I will do is read some everyday and then try to write on it. Or, I could also write on what I am doing in my classes for school, (everyone needs to vent about their teachers or schoolwork at one time or another.) Other than that I think that I am done for the night. Happy New Year everyone!
